Washington中学主修表演及视觉艺术，从此与爵士乐结下不解之缘。在连续获得Down Beat学生音乐奖96年及97年“最佳爵士歌手”音乐奖后，99年夏天，她趁著暑假前往纽约，立刻爱上曼哈顿活力充沛的音乐环境。2000年秋，签入Blue Note，成为Blue Note音乐大厂中最年轻的爵士女伶。<BR> 诺拉-琼斯的新碟《不知何故》(Don't Know Why)在第４５届格莱美大奖上共获八项提名，并且无一落空，共获得年度最佳唱片、年度最佳专辑、年度最佳单曲、年度最佳新人、最佳流行女歌手、最佳流行乐演唱专辑、最佳非古典录音工程专辑、年度古典制作人八项大奖，成为本次格莱美奖的最大赢家。</FONT></P>
